Nexus and V1RAL — Linking Avatars to NFTs
Imagine a world where every person has their own 3D digital identity. Well, that world is closer than you think, thanks to Nexus and V1RAL. These two new tools make it easy for anyone to link their NFTs to custom avatars and generate new customized 3D models in just one click.
Nexus — Link NFTs with Custom Avatars
Nexus, the tool that lets you associate custom VRM avatars with any NFT you own. All you have to do is connect your wallet, select an NFT, and upload your VRM avatar file. It’s that simple!
Nexus avatars are transferred when the original NFT is sold. To replace a Nexus avatar, upload a new model. Right now, only ERC-721 tokens are available, but ERC-1155 will be added soon. And in the future, multiple slots will be added to allow for multiple outfits, for both aesthetic and performance reasons.
But why is this feature so important?
Well, for starters, it makes interoperability a breeze. With every platform, game engine, and app being unique and oriented towards specific devices, we’ve made it easy for them to choose the file that best fits their needs. VR and mobile games can select the low-resolution option, while Unreal-based games can take the higher quality one. Plus, with Nexus, every user can upload a different version of their original avatar and easily swap them out depending on the occasion. It’s like having a closet full of avatars!
V1RAL — Avatars Representing NFTs
This tool lets you get a 3D avatar representing your NFT, so you can showcase it wherever you go. We’ll be releasing full collections of these models, so you can download them and show off your NFT in style.
We plan to integrate every PFP collection, starting with the most popular and CC0 collections. Our first collection to be integrated is Grifters by XCOPY. Goblintown is next. These avatars are being integrated daily, so stay tuned to spot your collections!
To get your 3D avatar, all you have to do is log in to cryptoavatars.io, go to your profile, and check on Owned Avatars. All the supported collections should appear as they do in the original NFT. Just click on them to load your customized V1RAL avatar. The NFT image will be placed in the avatar screen, located in the head. Some collections even feature special textures to make them stand out!
And the best part? All these avatars are interoperable! So no matter where you go, you can take your avatars with you and show off your NFTs like a boss.
